About the project
The Homestuck Lineup Project is a project which has been hosted for about a year on Tumblr in which multiple artists draw their own personal interpretations of the characters from the webcomic Homestuck.
Each character is given three weeks for people to submit their art of them and the results are turned into a gif showcasing everyone’s designs. We are all encouraged to be creative and add our own spin onto the characters.
I have taken part in all of the current character showcases and plan to also be apart of all of the future ones. The style I use for the lineup is a lot softer and more illustrative then the one I usually use. I took inspiration from children’s book illustrations for it as the characters are all early to late teens and I thought it would be quite cute.
The project has a blog where all of the submissions are reblogged and the results are showcased.
The slider below shows each of my designs next to the original character sprites from the comic (drawn by Andrew Hussie) for reference of the changes I made when translating their simple designs to a more detailed style.
